  1. ENVSIZE - Release notes
  2.           Version 1.02 - May 20, 1986

  4. New revision:
  5.   This revision of ENVSIZE protects the PSP of the ENVSIZE program by placing
  6.   a minimum on the number of paragraphs which may be added to the Environment
  7.   based on the total bytes currently used. ( the minimum value will be higher
  8.   if there are more Parameters in the Environment )
  9.  
  10. Note to MS-DOS version 3 users:
  11.   Version 3 provides a "/E=nn" option to SHELL command in the CONFIG.SYS file
  12.   which initializes the Environment to a specified number of paragraphs. It
  13.   is included in version 3.1 but is not documented below version 3.2. If this
  14.   option works on your system it may not be necessary to use ENVSIZE in an
  15.   AUTOEXEC.BAT file but only when the Environment must be expanded for those
  16.   unforeseen occasions. I have tested this out on Compaq MS-DOS version 3.1
  17.   and it works but there are other problems with specifying a SHELL on this
  18.   version which cause occasional system crashes. Any information you can
  19.   provide regarding this would be appreciated.
